Welcome to our monthly Fly on the Wall, a blog post written in snippets. Marcia, Diane, and I invite you to catch a glimpse of what you’d see if you were a fly on the wall in our homes, at our writing desks, and in our worlds. Come on in, buzz around, see what we've been up to. Bet you laugh!     Hubs works mostly from home, only going into the office a few days a week. When he's here, there are times when I can talk to him, and other times when he's working on a client's account and can't talk.  I'd called to him, but he let me know he was in t ..read more

February was finally over, the first day of March was here and I was excited. It had been a cold windy February, well, with a few very weird, almost hot day thrown in there just to keep us on our toes. I was more than ready for the month in which Spring would officially st ..read more

Hubs was leaving for work and, as he always does, asks me if I need anything while he's out. I rarely do, but I'd been having trouble finding eggs and we were running low so I aked him, if he was going to be near a grocery store, to see what he could find. Later, I hear him comi ..read more

Welcome to a monthly Fly on the Wall post, where Marcia and I invite you to catch a glimpse of what you’d see if you were a fly on the wall in our homes. Come on in, buzz around, see what we've been up to. Bet you laugh!  Hello.  Yeah, I got it backwards, the "hello" most often comes before the "good-bye," not after. Just call me Lucy. 'Cause the voice in my head right now is very much Desi, rolling his eyes, looking at me and saying: "you've got some 'spaining to do . . ." And no, btw, I'm not dating myself, that line is iconic. So yes, I quit blogging. I wr ..read more

Last Friday of the month is for Monthly Poetry Group to rhyme. Diane, Mimi, and I take turns, Your Superpower, the theme this time.   As usual, today I'll try, a poem to write . . . or fudge. Whether I'm successful or not, you get to be the judge.   Finale Superpowers are fluid things often changing throughout life, Quite different when single, than as a mom and wife. College found me taking tests, with hardly any sleep. My superpower? Partying, and yet, good grades, I'd keep. Marriage and moving far away, to where I'd not fit in, Sometime ..read more

It's not so much that I was hearing voices. I mean, that's not . . . you know . . . healthy. But, truth is, I wasn't. Healthy. Physically.  Mentally, I was doing OK. A little depressed, a lot exhausted, but mostly OK. Well, except for the messages.  Not auditory messages, visual. Delivered through a daily game I played. Seemingly mocking me at first, but later offering some pretty sound advice.   So, two things. The first one I'll give you the bare minimum in terms of information. Because I neither want to relive, nor will you want to hear all the gory details. And it was ..read more

Welcome to a monthly Fly on the Wall group post. Today 2 bloggers are inviting you to catch a glimpse of what you’d see if you were a fly on the wall in our homes. Come on in and buzz around my house. At the end of my post you’ll find links to this month’s other participants’ posts. PurDude came home for a few weeks at the end of last month and the beginning of this month. When he walked in the door, I noticed that he looked different, he had changed his haircut. Me: You're wearing your hair differently. I like it. PurDude: Yeah, I'm growing a mullet. Me: A mullet? They ..read more

Counting my words again! Today my fellow Word Counters and I are sharing our monthly group post. Each month, one group member picks a number between 12 and 50. All participating bloggers are then challenged to write something (or a few somethings, as the case may be) using that exact number of words. Today we share what we all came up with. This month's number is 33.  It was chosen by Me! ~ I've often used this post to air my complaints about the lack of customer service. Today it's about convenience, inconvenience, being denied the choice of shopping in ..read more

Today’s post is a monthly writing challenge. If you’re new here, this is how it works: my friend Diane and I picked 4 – 6 words or short phrases to submit to each other to craft into a post. All words must be used at least once. Both posts will be unique as we each have our own set of words we're working with. At the end of this post, you'll find the link to Diane's post, be sure to check it out, see what words I sent her and how she used them.   I'm using: drool ~ doodle ~ dodge ~ deem ~ dramatic          &nb ..read more

Poetry Monday's once a week. I bet you know which day. I don't participate every time, But today I've come out to play. My friends assign each week a theme, Winter is what they chose. Now it's up to all of us, to put our thoughts into prose.     Woes and Peace Winter is a time when I need too many clothes! Freezing, I must cover up, from head down to my toes. Driving's not so easy now,  it's quite the scary deal. Has me asking myself twice,  before I take the wheel. Full on storms are just the worst, snow with sleet and ice. Those days I stay ..read more
