It’s been a pretty good year for the Phoenix entity, first getting an origin in the X-Men comics and then the first-ever ongoing Phoenix ongoing comic book series launching this week. But that’s not the only Jean Grey milestone this week! For the first time in many years, Hasbro has a new (not Dark) Marvel Legends Phoenix figure up for order—and it’s a deluxe release with a huge fiery Phoenix Force entity effect base! It’s a bit on the pricey side, but there’s no denying how lovely it is! Will this be flying into your display, Marvel collectors? (Plus: the Demon Sorceress Magik teleports in fo ..read more

With McFarlane Toys being the primary producer of DC Comics figures these days, it definitely came as a bit of a shock when it was announced a few months back that McFarlane Toys Marvel figures were on the way as well! Fully revealed this week, McFarlane Marvel pre-posed 1/6 and 1/10 figures are now up for order! Let’s have a peek and see what this new line is all about… As the Marvel Cinematic Universe has begun to retreat a bit from the public consciousness, we’ve also seen a concurrent distinct reduction in the quantity of new Marvel collectibles lines coming our way. Marvel Toy News
by D. Kuhrt

There’s no doubt that Joss Whedon’s Astonishing X-Men comic books run was a watershed moment for the merry mutants, and John Cassaday’s costume designs for the x-Men have had enduring popularity as a result. So even though Toybiz released a very nice Astonishing Wolverine in 2005, it’s no shocker to see Hasbro upgrading that iteration of Logan in the 85th Anniversary Marvel Legends series during Wolverine’s own 50th anniversary. The 2024 Marvel Legends Astonishing X-Men Wolverine figure is starting to ship now—is this the ultimate release of this version? I want to get my minor gripes and nit ..read more

2024 Marvel Legends SHE-HULK Retro Figure REVIEW
Marvel Toy News

If there’s one superheroine I don’t mind seeing Hasbro upgrade every few years, it’s She-Hulk. But when we saw the initial photos with the pre-order for the 2024 Marvel Legends She-Hulk figure from the Retro Iron Man Series, it looked like we might get the definitive Jennifer Walters that would need upgraded no more. Is the final product Shulkie figure up to that high bar of expectations? Here’s my review… I’ve gushed about my affection for She-Hulk many times previously, so I’ll forgo repeating myself here and settle for saying that I am a big fan of the character and had a lot of anticipati ..read more

Marvel Legends Cable REVIEW (2024 Zabu Build-A-Figure Series)
Marvel Toy News
by D. Kuhrt

Cable has had his fair share of Hasbro action figures, though still far less than the copious amount that Toybiz put out. Even so, it’s been over half a decade now since the last comics-based Cable Legends figure was released and demand for the popular character has grown quite high! And so, Nathan Christopher Charles Dayspring Askani’son Summers is finally returning to stores this summer as a headliner in the Marvel Legends Zabu Series. Is Hasbro’s latest Marvel Legends Cable figure their best? Here’s my review… Though Cable debuted (as Cable) in 1990, it wasn’t until I got to play as him in ..read more

Nothing makes you feel old quite the same as realizing a comic book character who’s still “brand new” in your mind is actually 17 years old now. Such is the case with the deluxe Marvel Legends Skaar figure that’s up for pre-order today, exclusively via fan channel outlets (no Target or Walmart, sorry)! Hasbro released a Skaar figure before long, long ago—is it worth upgrading the Son of Hulk on your shelf to this modern iteration? REVIEW: Marvel Legends WOLFSBANE Figure (2024 Zabu BAF Series)
Marvel Toy News
by D. Kuhrt

“Slow and steady” wins the race, but I think it’s also an apt descriptor for how Hasbro has team built the Peter David 90s X-Factor team in 6” Marvel Legends form. It’s been 6 years since Marvel Legends Multiple Man kicked off this iteration of X-Factor in the Apocalypse Build-A-Figure Series, but Rahne Sinclair has at last arrived to complete the team. The just-released Marvel Legends Wolfsbane figure has just started shipping as part of the mixed characters Zabu BAF wave—should you snag this long-awaited Scottish werewolf to your collection? Here’s my review… I honestly, truly, genuinely ne ..read more
