I know it is only February and that is winter. But it is Almost March so technically, we are close to spring right? And that means birds singing, butterflies fluttering and all those beautiful blooms in the garden. So I say bring on all the spring flower inspirations- and no maintenance porch with spring flowers are perfect for this time of year and all season long. No Maintenance Porch I am obsessed with lavender. We have lavender in the garden beds all around the house and even in our window boxes. And so, of course some lavender on the porch for a spring styling was perfect. And the secret ..read more

Sunshine and shorts one day & stormy weather another- it has been a busy weather week here. This week, the weekend view is full of simplicity. Baking sourdough bread, playing with leftover Valentines week flowers, our silkies and more. Crazy weather We had a downpour of rain and lots of wind for several days last week- and inside the house warm and cozy was where I stayed. I do love to work on creative projects when it is raining – I got some writing and photography done. And when the sun came out- we wandered out to get some miles in. We also spent a day watching Juju and Jionni last week ..read more

Even though it is chilly out and we are in February and not into spring yet- we are planting a few things in the garden and doing a bit of garden planning. Today we are talking about winter gardening & planting bulbs, seeds and other plans. Winter Garden- Bulbs & Plans Oh how I miss the beautiful blooms in the garden. Those layers of pretty purple and white foxgloves, peonies and garden roses make for many happy garden moments. Of course, in February- the garden is looking a whole lot more like leaves and layers of browns than green and blooms. With a lot of dried plants -winter garden ..read more

Beautiful Vintage French Country Comfy Chairs

The comfy chair is definitely a thing over here. I have chairs that are vintage and beautiful. Chairs that are vintage and delicate (aka not for sitting but look pretty) but not a whole lot of chairs that are vintage and comfy. And to be honest, while watching t.v or visiting- a comfy spot to sit and relax is a must. And so, the search was on for a pair of vintage chairs that were French Country style, beautiful and charming and all that- and comfy. A tall order really- but I bumped into a listing on marketplace that seemed to fit the bill. Vintage French Country Comfy Chairs The listing was f ..read more

Yes, you read that correctly. I tell my husband not to buy beautiful roses for Valentine’s Day. Why not to buy roses for Valentine’s Day   The admittedly obsessed and slightly over the top queen of flowers and all things romantic tells her husband to walk right on by the flowers at Valentine’s Day. It probably isn’t what you think. You see, Valentine’s Day is a big occasion for making those sweetheartloves of our lives feel like they have to do something to show us how much they care. Usually in the form of heart shaped chocolates in pretty red and pink boxes and dozens of ro ..read more

Welcome to the weekend view. This week has been another rain filled one so we have been inside enjoying a little down time from the projects out in the yard. Stormy Weather A bit of rain has been happening in California the past few weeks- and last weeks storm knocked the power out all across the state. The wind was a bit crazy and so, we mostly just stayed indoors and stayed warm by the fire until the power came back on a few days later. I managed to get some work on the computer and a few photos in the attic wrapped up. Here is a screen grab from a video of a peek I shared on instagram. New ..read more

Tips for finding a beautiful Antique French Mirror
French Country Cottage

I have said it before… I have to stop browsing marketplace. It almost always leads to me saving things and showing my husband another something that we should go pick up. Which, I am okay with. I honestly save a lot more things than I decide to message about. So, it is more like window shopping – and inspiration shopping. Unless I find something like an antique French mirror. Then- it is buying kind of shopping. Antique French Mirror I always get a ton of questions about how I found our stack of antique mirrors. Honestly, some of it was persistence & some of it was just plain luck. I happe ..read more

It’s a rain soaked weekend view this week. Dolly We watched Juliette and Jionni while their parents went to pick up their new puppy. A sweet little mini poodle they named Dolly. She is absolutely adorable as you can see and has already stolen all the hearts. Grand Baby Adventures While they were off on an afternoon puppy adopting date- we walked to the park for some play time. It was lots of fun until the skies turned dark and the wind starting blowing like crazy. I wrapped Jionni up in my coat and Juliette loved watching the downpour of rain that started up and lasted pretty much nonstop for ..read more
