A Gran Turismo-exclusive vehicle has been revealed as the star of its own LEGO Speed Champions set among the new releases for summer 2024, with the Lamborghini Lambo V12 Vision GT becoming available in brick form. First revealed in 2019, at the Gran Turismo World Finals in Monaco, the Lamborghini is a wild concept racer based largely on Sian FKP37 mechanicals. It’s designed by Mitja Borkert and made its game debut with the launch of Gran Turismo 7. Since then it’s also been made into a 1:18 scale model from Maisto, and now joins the ranks of the small-scale LEGO Speed Champions range. Notably ..read more

The recent Gran Turismo 7 update 1.46 has again thrown a spotlight onto one of the game’s least-loved mechanisms, which we think is long overdue an overhaul: Invitations. It’s come to the fore again due to the new “Ferrari 12-Cylinder Engines” Extra Menu Book, which sets you a challenge of collecting specific three cars on this theme. They are the 365 GTB4 ’71 from the Legends dealer, the Testarossa ’91 from the Used Car lot, and the Ferrari LaFerrari from Brand Central. However the LaFerrari is one of ten cars in the game, from seven European manufacturers, which you can only purchase if you ..read more

Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races: Rental Lottery

The latest Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races are now available, with a slightly different look than usual as Polyphony Digital implements a quick fix forced by a glitch introduced in last week’s update 1.46. It’s not something that has massive consequences for players, but the upshot is that you’ll only be able to use borrowed cars this week and in standard styles and liveries. That’s because the glitch allows players to access full vehicle settings even under the BOP conditions used in these races, so the ability to use your own cars has been removed. We’ll likely see this continue until there’s an ..read more

A whole new Series begins today in Forza Horizon 5, with a fresh theme descending across the Horizon Festival and all-new prize cars for the various challenges this month. Going by the name of “Apex Allstars”, Series 33 is all about racing on the road — in-keeping with the “Horizon Apex” branding for the road-racing series in the game. You’ll be spending far less time tackling the dirt and wilds of Mexico over the next four weeks, and that’s reflected in the suite of race cars that appear as prizes for the various events. There’s a total of five, one of which is an out-and-out dragster, and a ..read more

Gran Turismo 7’s Update 1.46 is now available, bringing two entirely new brands to the series as we revealed earlier in the week. Aside from the fact that two of the vehicles represent manufacturers that have never been in a GT game before, it’s a regular three-car update and comes in at 1.09GB on PlayStation 5 and 1.11GB on PlayStation 4. That does mean that, as expected, there isn’t a new circuit to enjoy this month. However there’s still plenty of information to get through, including new things in the patch notes, now that the update is available. Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.46: New Cars Cou ..read more

With a few hours to go until it’s officially revealed, a first look at the Skoda Vision Gran Turismo car has leaked out courtesy of one regional PlayStation site jumping the gun — along with the other contents of the upcoming update 1.46. It’s looking like a regular three-car update, set for Thursday April 25, with the game set to hit the 500-car mark through the first Skoda vehicle in a Gran Turismo game, Sony’s own first production car, and a classic muscle car making a welcome return from previous GT games. Update: This has also been further confirmed by an unusually timed Tweet from GT se ..read more

A Gran Turismo Pebble Beach Winner has a Surprising Role in the Fallout TV Series

Eagle-eyed racing game fans may have spotted an unusual vehicle popping up in the background of Amazon Prime’s Fallout TV series, with a very firm connection to the Gran Turismo series. Plymouth’s XNR is a concept car, created for and displayed at the 1960 New York Motor Show, and with a rather unusual history to match its unique looks. Designed by Virgil Exner (and yes, if you take the vowels out of his name…) for Chrysler, it was part of a range of concept cars built by Carrozzeria Ghia that were intended to reinvent the brand’s image. Like the others, the XNR never made it to production an ..read more
