From an early age I have been a lover of crime fiction. Discovering like minded people at my first crime conference at St Hilda's Oxford in 1997, I was delighted when asked to join a new group for the promotion of female crime writers. In 1998 I took over the running of the group, which I did for the next thirteen years.

The 2024 longlists for the prestigious Crime Writers’ Association (CWA) Dagger awards, which honour the very best in the
crime-writing genre, have been announced
[8pm, April 20 at the CWA annual conference, Brighton].
Created in 1955, the world-famous CWA Daggers are the oldest awards in the genre and have been synonymous with quality crime writing for over half a century.
