I never get tired of this

I never get tired of this. I put it on in the morning and it stays with me all day. People in New York, Europe, and Australia have stopped and asked me what the scent is. Some actually have taken out pieces of paper and written the name down. It has a mixture of spice and floral scents that really works for me. I don’t have to look up the notes — I know what’s in it as soon as I smell it. — Angélique Kidjo on L’Artisan Parfumeur Timbuktu. From Frédéric Malle, the USB-rechargeable Fleur Mécanique II diffuser: "To create Fleur Mécanique II, Frédéric Malle concocted, like a mad scientist, a device that is both simple and wonderfully complex which adapts the scents to each person’s space and mood. The fan allows one to control the intensity, duration, and frequency of diffusion of one's favorite perfume. Using dimmers and timers, the perfume is diffused at the desired intensity. Effortless and instantaneous, the cartridge can be changed in the blink of an eye to adapt a home fragrance to one's mood. An immediate change of atmosphe ..read more

Maybe it was just me, but the scents landed on the wrong part of my brain, knocking on reason’s door. Scriabin leaves you with enough questions as it is, and here were more. Salonen’s and Thibaudet’s sensational performance of “Prometheus” — transparent, nuanced and colorful — had no need for further tickling the senses. — From a review of the San Francisco Symphony's production of  Scriabin’s “Prometheus, The Poem of Fire,” scented by perfumer Mathilde Laurent. Or, ask a question about fragrance, then see if anyone else has asked a question that you can answer… Read the rest of this article ..read more
