I am a father of three and hold a day job in the financial industry. I love wine & dine and spend my free time experimenting new recipes and wine pairing while my Mrs loves to bake. Our dream is to set up our own restaurant and/or wine shop to pursue our interest and make a living at the same time.

Tucked away on the second floor of Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy, Jia Wei Chinese Restaurant feels like a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. With its understated elegance, the recently refreshed interior blends modern lines with soft tones, offering a tranquil escape from the busy East Coast neighbourhood. Round tables are dressed with minimalistic settings that lend a touch of tradition within a contemporary space. It is comfortable, chic, and just intimate enough for a special gathering or a quiet lunch.

We had a remarkable evening at VITIS Wine Bar and Bistro, which blended its Asian-inspired cuisine with a rare showcase of Bordeaux wines from Château Montrose and Château Tronquoy-Lalande. Typically focused on Asian wines and winemakers, VITIS is known for its commitment to unearthing unique regional flavours, from Thailand to Japan, China to India. But this evening it was a special collaboration with Grand Vin wines, spotlighting some French classics alongside Chef Kenneth Lin's inventive menu.
We began with Blanc de Tronquoy, a refined Bordeaux Blanc crafted from Sémillon and Sauvignon Gri ..read more

At Kinn Derm, tucked away in ORTO West Coast, the harmony of Thai cuisine and eclectic beats creates a symphony for the senses. Here, the vibrant strums of a live band traverse through Thai, English, and Chinese hits, with an occasional nod to the heartwarming dialect songs of yesteryears.
The spread of Thai culinary gems beckons the laid-back clink of cold beer bottles, each sip a refreshing counter to the spice-infused fare. Whether it is the rich and eggy crab curry or the flavourful and crunchy deep-fried pork belly, the robust character of a Thai lager complements each bite with a smooth ..read more

At Sarai in Tanglin Mall, the essence of Thai cuisine is remastered with a contemporary twist by the skilled Chef de Cuisine Lisa Khamphuang. The dishes showcase a balance of innovation and tradition that is both delightful and familiar.
The 'Yum som o puu nim' reimagines the classic pomelo salad with the addition of crispy soft shell crab, creating a playful contrast in textures. 'Goong Sarong' offers prawns in a crispy coating, paired with a tangy Thai sweet chilli sauce, providing a simple yet refined taste.

On this public holiday, our kitchen turned into a stage for a simple yet splendid family lunch. Mushrooms, sautéed with a touch of garlic, butter and herbs, whispered stories of the forest. Tender calamari, lightly charred, teased the taste buds with a hint of the sea. Juicy vine tomatoes, burnt to a tangy sweetness, and slices of pork jowl with a caramelized edge sang of indulgent textures.
Roasted cauliflower, with a crunchy walnut crown, hugged our palates with its earthy warmth, while a whole baked seabass was a silent ode to the simplicity of home cooking. Each dish melded into a chorus ..read more

Celebrating Ashley’s 21st birthday, I crafted a culinary journey that paints the canvas of our family's love with her favourite flavours from our home kitchen.
We kicked off with a Yellowtail ceviche, a dish singing with zesty notes and the freshness of the sea. Each slice was a harmonious melody of tender fish and the bright accents of citrus, adorned with creamy avocado.
The Fennel soup was a tribute to Ashley’s love for root vegetables. In the absence of her favourite parsnip, fennel stepped into the spotlight, its subtle aniseed charm weaving through the warm, velvety broth.

Gathering in the warm embrace of camaraderie, my fellow Liverpool supporter pals and I came together for a Lo-Hei celebration. With a menu curated by Josh, the feast was a playful twist on tradition - every dish a tribute to Anfield legends and the spirit of the game. As red jerseys brightened the room, so did the joy of shared plates and tales of matches past. Diamond Kitchen - a pitch where flavours score and memories win.
