Breaking news out of Mammoth Mountain where five people are reportedly injured after an explosion at a condo near the ski resort. NEWS4 reports the Mammoth Lakes Police Department responded to the Val d’Lsere Condominiums at 194 Hillside Drive on the report of an explosion. Everyone is asked to avoid the area until further notice. The cause of the explosion is under investigation. The initial first phase of the village buildout and terrain expansion timeline, which was announced back in 2021. Snowbasin’s Club Med hotel is not going to happen after all. The Salt Lake Tribune reports that Davy Ratchford, who is the General Manager of Snowbasin Resort, sent out a letter to passholders, detailing that their deal with Club Med had fallen through. Known as “The Ghosts of The Mountains” spotting a snow leopard in the wild is incredibly rare let alone seeing one in the act of hunting. Many major projects at Taos Ski Valley in New Mexico could begin soon. The Carson National Forest is asking for public comments for a multitude of projects that Taos is proposing. Some of these projects include a base-to-base gondola, the replacement of Lifts 2 & 8, and the development of a 33-acre cross-country ski and snowshoe center.
