Although electric vehicles have enjoyed significant progress in recent years, range anxiety remains an issue. It’s one of the main reasons why some people are sticking with their gas cars for the time being, with another factor being the underdeveloped EV charging infrastructure. If you’re ready to make the jump to a zero-emission vehicle but have concerns about efficiency, Consumer Reports conducted an extensive test.
While an electric vehicle’s EPA rating is generally more realistic than the WLTP standard, it’s still far from being entirely accurate. CR took no fewer than 22 EVs and tested t ..read more

BMW aficionados know the story of this factory-built M3 E30 pickup conversion built in 1986 and used for more than 26 years. The M3 Pickup came along in 2011 for that year’s April Fools’ joke and was actually a road-legal vehicle. In 2019, the German luxury brand revisited the wild idea of a workhorse with the X7 Pickup. If you have a soft spot for BMW trucks, this custom-made build should be right up your alley.
It too started out as an E30 convertible before receiving the truck treatment. This is a right-hand-drive car with an E28 M5 spoiler, a sliding rear window, and an M3 badge. It has go ..read more

Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the BMW Tech Office in Silicon Valley this week, the Bavarians provided a glimpse into their latest battery advancements. We’re living in a bittersweet timeline considering downsizing is in full swing but there are still a few notable exceptions of cars with large-displacement engines. BMW’s V8 is a survivor, and the M division has promised to keep the twin-turbo 4.4-liter mill until the end of the decade. It might even survive past 2030 in regions of the world where emissions regulations are not as strict, such as the United States.
When BMW gave the X7 a radical mid-cycle facelift last year, it rebranded the M Performance version from M50i to M60i. The decision was taken to highlight a change underneath the hoo ..read more

An electric M car is a matter of when rather than if, but that “when” isn’t going to happen anytime soon. Why? Because BMW is still working on a high-performance EV that will only be released when it is good enough to beat the M3. In an extended interview with Australian magazine CarExpert, M CEO Frank van Meel explained why it’s taking this long and the connection to racing.
“If you look at the M3 Touring, or the M3, these are the benchmark right now, which actually is our own benchmark as well in regards to the next generation. So if that is electric, it has to be better than the current one ..read more

BMW offers a plethora of Individual colors but we hardly get to see some of them. Cars painted in Messing Metallic are few and far between as the last time we talked about one was back in 2016 with an M3 F80. Carrying the “621” internal codename, the paint returns on an X5 facelift in the plug-in hybrid guise. This xDrive50e is an absolute stunner in a world of black and gray SUVs.
High-end car dealer Koster & Hogeslag from The Netherlands is putting the spotlight on this electrified luxury SUV. Recently facelifted, the X5 also happens to have the M Sport Package and stately 22-inch wheels ..read more
