It has been reported to England Boxing that there are a number of scam emails circulating. It is imperative that you protect yourself and your devices from these emails. What should you do if you’ve received a scam email? Do not click on any links in the scam email. Do not reply to the email or contact the senders in any way. A ‘fantastic’ link-up between regional associations and the England Boxing Talent Development Camps (TDCs) has been established at the start of 2020 – and is set to be taken replicated around the country. For last weekend’s TDCs hosted at Dagenham and Burmantofts gym, a selection of 10 to 15 boxers from the relevant regions (London and Yorkshire) were invited to join in with the training. It’s been a busy time for Market Drayton Boxing after the club has secured investment from Maverick Stars Trust to deliver an after-school project alongside the town’s Grove School in Market Drayton itself. Improving School attendance and behaviour Shropshire-based club Market Drayton Boxing has been able to deliver some boxing sessions to youngsters that have really made a difference. England Boxing-affiliated The Bar ABC’s outreach project has been given a timely boost thanks to a funding boost from the Maverick Stars Trust. Maverick’s Fit and Fed brings festive cheer

A string of Maverick Stars Trust-funded Fit and Fed projects have been staged at boxing clubs around the country, ensuring it was a happier Christmas for hundreds of youngsters. The free sessions featured training with England Boxing-qualified coaches followed by the serving of a hot meal, with a total of 14 clubs taking part. In the Tyne, Tees and Wear region, Leam Lane ABC held its first ever Fit and Fed event on 27th December – and it was a huge success in bringing all ages of the community together. It’s been a fantastic month for two young boxers on the Spotlight London DISE programme. Afewee BC boxer Vivien Parsons triumphed in the NABGCs and the England Boxing Women’s Winter Box Cup 2019. Parsons picked up the NABGC title at 60kg (Class B) in Bridlington, beating Millie Jukes (Burmantofts) via unanimous decision. Former DiSE student Harvey Horn visited some of the current first-year boxers on the programme at the Spotlight centre in London recently to offer valuable insight and inspiration. The ex-GB flyweight boxer and current WBO European champion gave advice and encouragement to the group as they started another day of technical work and planning. Thanks to significant support from The Maverick Stars Trust, England Boxing-affiliated Unity Boxing Academy of Bradford was able to run an engaging summer holiday camp that hopes to bring long-term benefits. Billy Adams (Dagenham BC) was back in the classroom on the DiSE programme shortly after putting together two great performances in two days to win gold at the Schwerin International Box Cup.
