How do I obtain an RCMP CCRC here in Calgary? Specifically for international student visa use?
I went to the Calgary Police Service nearest me and they have directed me to apply for a Police Information Check (which to my knowledge is not the same as the CCRC and is not usable for the Visa application). The officer mentioned that I couldn't obtain an RCMP CCRC, since Calgary only utilizes PIC...Again, it's not the required document needed for the student visa application.
I called the RCMP office in Ottawa and they directed me to book a fingerprinting service, and that the fingerprints will b ..read more

Happy Wednesday!
This is a continuation of my pattern of posting what I think are decent grocery deals with the hope that this will save some people some money. As noted previously this is heavily skewed to items that I and my family eat. There are probably additional items that are good deals but I don't know it because they aren't items I use but hopefully my list is still useful to you.
A few quick reminders:
PC Optimum points are collected at No Frills and Superstore. 1,000pts is worth $1.
Scene+ points are collected at Safeway, Sobeys and FreshCo. 100pts is worth $1.

Hi all, I (26M) am thinking about making a move to Canada and am wanting to spend some time over in Calgary before hand to experience life here a little.
Planning to visit for around 10 days around July. Is there any recommendations of places to stay? Maybe a hostel where I can meet others while I’m here.
How is public transport around this time to get from Downtown over to Banff and Lake Louise? Any recommendations for other must sees over that way or the surrounding in general?
Really into hiking and am aware there seems to be a lot of nice hiking trails around the area?

Hey my brass band Delirium Street Party Brass is busy getting ready for our “The Alberta Sessions EP” release tour. The Calgary show on that is April 27 at Ironwood.
But I came here today to invite you to Pixel Park tomorrow at 5:30ish pm, we’re going to put on some brass band music from 6pm to 6:45pm. April 18th. 314 12 Ave SE. it’s going to be fun to “return to our roots” as an actual “street party brass band” lol.
Introduce yourself to me, the trombone player, as a redditor! Always fun to meet in RL. We have a few guests too I’ll introduce, fun musicians (tuba, singer…).

Hi, I just want people opinions on the best BBQ pork in the city, I've always gone to Suns BBQ on Centre Street for years. I've heard other places like Wai's BBQ or BBQ express is also very good too. Can anyone recommend me there go to spots that are similar in quality and price to Suns BBQ?
Thanks.

I am looking for date night recommendations for places that are indoors and aren't too noisy so we can have a private conversation for an hour or 2.
Happy to pay a cover charge, buy food/drinks and if the place gets busy not hold a table for too long.
Any ideas on what might fit this bill?
