Portraits in Quarantine

Like all of us, there are SO MANY things I didn’t expect to happen this year. COVID happened. I freaked out for a while. Then got used to it. Then freaked out again. Then spiralled again. Then recovered. It was all a bit of an ongoing cycle for a few months. Now, in Thailand, at least, things have calmed down. We can travel domestically, we can move freely around the city – as long as our masks are on. One thing I certainly didn’t expect to happen as a result of the pandemic was my love of photography to completely blossom. Being trapped inside, in a VERY SMALL condo in central Bangkok meant ..read more

Hello from Home!

Oh hi! I just wanted to check in and say hey. Times are pretty weird at the moment, aren’t they? We’re all stuck inside, doing our thing and trying to get by during these weird, weird times. Coronavirus has literally shut the entire world down, and I, like you probably are, am working from home. I’m still in my little apartment in Thailand, I’m still a teacher, only now I film little videos of me reading and singing and send them off to my little class of two and three year olds. It’s all quite odd, but I’m thankful I can keep on working, and besides the occasional stress-fuelled freak out (t ..read more

Cherries!

There are cherries! In my ears! I don’t wear earrings often at ALL (probably three times in the last few years) but these ones totally won me over, and even better, the cheap metal they’re made from didn’t make my ears itchy like most things do. Win win win. The earrings are great and all, but I wanted to take this time to talk about a big disappointment in my life at the moment. Disney. I was SO excited after getting tickets to Disney on Ice in Bangkok. They literally arrived in my hot little hands on Friday last week, and by Monday I had found out that the show was cancelled. Thanks, Coronav ..read more

How to style fake bangs with a bun

Have you had bangs before? I have, several times actually, and I always wonder whether it’s something I want to do again – after they’ve just finished growing out again. I came up with this simple video tutorial, showing you how you can fake your bangs in under 5 minutes. It’s a really good way of testing whether you want to commit to cutting bangs again. this works really well half up/half down, but ultimately it’s a tutorial for how to fake bangs with a bun. I hope you like it, and please let me know here or on my YouTube whether you’ve tried it and if it worked for you ..read more

Bangkok in Bloom

Did you notice all of the little flowers creeping in on the sides of this bridge? That’s one of the MANY things I love about Bangkok. You get completely used to your surroundings and don’t feel particularly impressed, then all of a sudden, the tiniest little thing catches your eye and you fall in love all over again. Sure, they’re just flowers, but boy are they pretty in amongst a whole bunch of gigantic skyscrapers. This yellow dress has become a real favourite of mine lately. I bought it in Las Vegas during a vintage shopping spree. I liked it, but didn’t love it, and bought it, convinced it ..read more

Kora Organics Turmeric Mask Review

I’m definitely no beauty blogger (or anything close to it, really!) but I am having a lot of fun with my YouTube channel lately and have been trying out some different stuff. It might not be your cup of tea exactly, but if you have a spare two minutes (1 minute 50 to be precise!) I’d love it if you could quickly pop over and give it a view – or even a thumbs up! And if you’re interested in the turmeric mask yourself, I’ve popped the link below (and it’s not an affiliate link – I just think you might quite like it!) Mustard Co ord

I think the co-ord fad died out a while ago (maybe even years ago) but I’m totally here for it. And if it comes in my favourite shade of mustard yellow then you can absolutely bet that I’m one hundred percent keen keen keen. I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t think this look is the most flattering for my shape, but as time goes on I’m more and more comfortable with the curves I’ve grown since living in Thailand (the sticky rice and mango is completely worth it), so I’m happy. That’s all. Yay mustard yellow! Co-ord – Femme Luxe / Clogs – Lotta from Stockholm ..read more

5 minute 1960s eye makeup tutorial

I’ve made absolutely no secret of the fact that the 1960s are undoubtably my favourite decade when it comes to style. Sure, I absolutely adore the clothes, but another thing I’m completely besotted with is the makeup. I basically wear winged liner every single day, and a big part of that is due to the style icons of the time, such as Anna Karina and Brigette Bardot. I’m pretty upfront about the fact that I’m not the best makeup artist ever, but I do have fun with it, and decided to put my *skills* to the test to put together a 60s inspired makeup tutorial, thanks to my friends over at Adore ..read more

Into the Unknown

Last new years we started a little bit of a tradition. One that I DEFINITELY want to continue. Every year, King Power (a massive hotel chain that also owns a soccer team in the UK) puts on a Disney pop up that’s completely free. Last year it was the 50th Disney celebration, and this time around, it was Frozen themed. In all honesty, it’s not my favourite Disney movie ever, although I do really like it. And it’s free. So I absolutely had to check it out, in a bit of an Elsa inspired look, of course. Back to the tradition: on January 1st of every year, we visit the Disney pop up. Like I said la ..read more

You’re a Sunflower

Oh my gosh, it’s 2020! I hope you all had a fantastic New Years celebration. For us, it was was watching Ozark in our pyjamas (gosh it’s good!) and hurrying out to the balcony just in time to watch the sky erupt in fireworks. It was pretty special actually, and there’s no one else I’d rather start a new year – decade even (!) with for that matter. I wanted to start this year off in the brightest and happiest way possible – cue this field full of sunflowers! We took these about a week before the new year, but I wanted to hold off until right now, to start January 1st off with a bang. Taking the ..read more
