Another beautiful weekend, another beautiful cigar. This week I take a run at the Drew Estate Liga Privada H99 Phineas Gage Lancero. The Good Stuff: The H99 was originally added to the Liga Privada line in 2018. Since the release Drew Estate has continuously expanding the line adding additional formats. In 2022 the company announced the release of a much anticipated lancero vitola dubbed the “Phineas Gage”. I haven’t done a pairing for a while and the cloudy overcast weather had me craving a good stout. This week I take a look at Tatuaje’s 10th Anniversary Capa Especial Belle Encre paired with a bottle of The Bruery’s Adios Martes Sherry Barrel Aged Imperial Stout. The Good Stuff: The 10th anniversary cigar was released by Tatuaje in 2013 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the company. Fast forward 10 years later and Pete Johnson, founder of Tatuaje, released the Tatuaje 10th Anniversary Tuxtla which featured the same blend with a wrapper change. This year, The company released the 10th Anniver ..read more

Hello spring! I will be spending much, much more time out back. Keeping my company this week is the upcoming release of the Powstanie Connecticut Justice. The Good Stuff: Powstanie will be showcasing a new addition to their Connecticut line with the upcoming release of the “Justice” at this year’s PCA trade show in April. This 5 1/2 x 46 corona gorda format is created to celebrate the middle child of Powstanie’s owner Mike Szczepankiewicz. While the original blend was created 10 years ago, Powstanie recreated the Connecticut line 9 years later, releasing it at the 2023 PCA trade show. Created ..read more

As the weather starts to warm I will be back on tracking bringing new reviews for 2024. Kicking things off I am taking a deep dive into the Adrian Magnus Imperials, a brand and cigar completely new to me. Let’s see how it shakes out. The Good Stuff: Adrian Magnus is a newer cigar brand that started in 2020 in Spain. The cigar are produced in the Dominican Republic and in my case, shipped direct from Hungry. Adrian Magnus is pretty secretive about their blends and they do not release a lot of information. What we do know is that the cigar contains tobacco that is aged for at least 10 years. Top 10 Cigars of 2023
Casas Fumando
by Tony Casas

It’s that time of the year again folks! Today we are featuring my top 10 cigars of 2023. Let’s be honest here. Since I don’t kick out reviews as often as some of the bigger media guys out there I tend to smoke a lot of cigars and brand that I enjoy. With that in mind there is obvious a bit of bias there. Also, since I don’t have a rating structure in place this list is based off of how much I personally enjoyed each cigar which is crazy subjective to take it all with a grain of salt. While there isn’t a tight set of rules we follow here on our list, we do limit it to cigars we reviewed in 2023 ..read more

I’m braving the cold winds over here in an attempt to try and wrap up a few lingering reviews that I want to get done before the end of the year. This week I take a look at the all-new Illusione Singularé Origen. The Good Stuff: Last year Dion Giolito, founder of Illusione cigars, shook things up when he announced a big change to the Illusione Singularé line by introducing the Origen. Each year the company released a limited edition Singulare release, however the new release is not only a full line, but a full production one at that. Dion stated that in this full-production line, he took every ..read more

As I attempt to wrap up the last of the reviews in my list for the year, the El Paso weather is offering me little breaks. Today is a bit warmer, but also quite breezy. Sheltering under the patio today I am accompanied by a The Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust Mi Querida Black PapaSaka. The Good Stuff: Steve Saka, founder of Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust unveiled the third installment to the Mi Querida line, the Mi Querida black at last year’s PCA show with the SakaKhan which we reviewed later in the year. Produced at the NACSA factory in Nicaragua the blend features a US grown Connecticut Broadl ..read more
