There’s no information about a new album in sight, but Born of Osiris have dropped their third stand-alone single with today’s release of the track “Elevate” and its accompanying music video. As you should probably expect at this point given their previous two singles “Torchbearer” and “A Mind Short Circuiting”, the song’s a little djenty with some electronic flavoring thrown in for good measure. Speaking of the track, the band says “Elevate” feels more like an old school Born of Osiris song. “‘Elevate’ embodies the essence of our roots. The combination of ethereal melodies with down-tuned g ..read more

Review: Inter Arma Embrace the Darkness on New Heaven
MetalSucks | Heavy Metal News, Gossip, Videos and Track Streams

At it since 2006, Inter Arma are back with New Heaven, perhaps their heaviest work to date. Where some of their past records floundered a bit in experimentation, this one cuts through the fat and just plain rocks. Clocking in at 40 minutes, there is hardly a dull moment on the entire record. The band got their start so early they were clearly a little ahead of the times with their dissonant, sludgy sound and blatant disregard for rules or structure. Now, in 2024, they are pioneers of that style, and it feels like the band are finally getting their due. The title track grips you right out of t ..read more

Necrot’s Lifeless Birth Lands Near the Top of Billboard’s Top New Artist Chart

It could probably go without saying, but Necrot released an absolute banger of a death metal record when they put out Lifeless Birth earlier this month. We liked it, you guys liked it, and apparently there’s enough excitement surrounding the band and the album that it’s hitting pretty hard on the charts. Released back on April 12, Lifeless Birth has been tearing shit up. It’s been such a hit that Billboard revealed that the album landed at the number 3 spot on both Top New Artist and Top Albums – RED lists on its first week of release. And while that would be noteworthy in its own right, the ..read more

First Batch of Summer Slaughter Tour Bands Announced Don’t Hold a Candle to Years Past

After much hooplah about the return of The Summer Slaughter Tour and speculation as to which extreme metal acts would be on the bill, the initial batch of confirmations we got moments ago just feels… off. That’s not to say anything negative about the bands in question, but in comparison to years past this just feels like people expecting to experience the Summer Slaughter of old will be surprised. Touted as a comeback for the annual traveling festival, the 2024 edition of The Summer Slaughter Tour will start on July 12 in Brooklyn, New York and come to an end on August 10 in Reading, Pennsylv ..read more

Not content to let people forget that the American mid-west is death metal as fuck, Ohio’s own 200 Stab Wounds are back with a new single “Hands of Eternity”, along with the announcement that their sophomore album Manual Manic Procedures is coming this June. Set for release on June 28, Manual Manic Procedures looks to be a dripping slab of nine new tracks from the incredibly brutal Cleveland-based band. Now, I don’t know about you, but the two Kittie singles we’ve already heard “Eyes Wide Open” and “We Are Shadows” really wowed me. I’ll admit originally writing Kittie off when I was young because I was a stupid kid, but thankfully with age I’ve come to appreciate what they’re doing. And it’s with that newfound maturity that I now hope to catch the band live on their newly announced run of North American dates. Set to kick off on July 12 in Toronto, Ontario until August 23 in Chicago, the set of five dates will see the quartet taking the stage with a number of supporting artists, including Vi ..read more

With one of this year’s most highly anticipated doom metal albums coming out in just a couple weeks in the form of Pallbearer‘s Mind Burns Alive, the band released the record’s second single “Endless Place” earlier today. And while it’s about as gloomy and downtempo as you’d expect, it’s also a very special track for one particular reason. Accompanied by a stark black and white music video filmed and directed by Dan Almasy, “Endless Place” marks the first time that Pallbearer has ever collaborated musically with an outside talent and boy, did they make it count. In a bid to add some new emoti ..read more

Boris are planning a U.S. tour this fall on which they will be playing all the songs from their classic record Amplifier Worship. This one is gonna get loud and weird, so make sure to plan ahead and catch this run. The 1998 album set the stage for their unpredictable and heavy sound that they’ve built on over the years, and it’s still one of their best-loved records. The tour will feature two drummers and an extended backline. Stawcrawler are opening the show on each date. The tour kicks off September 25 in San Diego, CA and ends November 11 in Tempe, AZ. Tickets are available here. 9/25 San ..read more
