The #TeamDSUK 10k for £10k initiative, is tasking individuals and groups to set their own 10,000m goal to be completed between 26th July and 8th September. All monies raised from activities going directly to helping more people with disabilities in Britain experience the benefits of adaptive skiing and snowboarding. The charity advises the 10k distance can be achieved by taking on anything from a run, swim or cycle to skiing or snowboarding 10,000 vertical metres. We were not ticking boxes when we started the walk – we set off on day trips from London planning to complete sections of the 90-mile route at will – it may take us two weeks, two months or two years. In France Val d’Isere and Les2Alps have now closed and Tignes is set to wind down its current summer operations this weekend. Saas-Fee in Switzerland is open. The Zermatt glacier remains open and it can be accessed from neighbouring Cervinia in Italy. Passo Stelvio in Italy is also open. In Austria Hintertux remains open.
