Spring Crescent Tote

It had been too long since I’ve made one of these, so I made this Spring Crescent Tote! The other day one of the places I’ve taken photographs before had their lawn covered in these beautiful blue Spring blooms. I’m not sure what kind of flowers they are, but they only last about 24 hours or so. Inspiration Strikes I got to work sewing up this Crescent Tote using See You At Six floral canvas (purchased from StyleMaker Fabrics) that I had on my cutting table. This combo was pulled originally to use on another pattern, but it felt like a good opportunity to sew up the Crescent Tote instead! I wa ..read more

Pre-quilted Oxbow Tote

I know, it’s been slow going here on the blog. I’ve been busy not taking pictures of my final projects; even worse, I take them and then don’t even post them. I’m not sure why. I’ve been blogging since 2009 and I still really enjoy it. I guess it feels like it matters less with everything social media. So in steps this pre-quilted Oxbow Tote! Fabric Buying Slump I’ve also realized I haven’t been buying much fabric. Honestly, fabric inspires me to sew, so it makes sense that if I don’t have as much fabric, I sew less. One of the reasons I like browsing fabric shops that carry more than quilting ..read more

Another Buckthorn Tote in Riverbend

Hope you had a great weekend! I made another Buckthorn Tote in Riverbend during my sew along this past fall and haven’t shared the finished bag yet! Check out my other Buckthorn Tote in Riverbend here. I recently got a new camera after having my other one for the past 9 years. Some parts of the camera were falling off and the screen had pixel fallout which was becoming more and more frustrating. So I tried grabbing a few shots of this Buckthorn Tote and then ended up having to switch back to my old camera to finish up! It’s been tough learning a whole new set up, and since then, I’ve spent li ..read more

Poolside Tote in Riverbend

When I was envisioning the different Big Sur prints for my collection, I knew this Poolside Tote in Riverbend Big Sur would be such a great match! Finding Riverbend Big Sur I know the Big Sur collection for Riverbend is getting a little hard to find already. Not that many yards were printed, so if you check your local quilt shop and they don’t have any, you might want to do a little online research to see if you can find a shop that still has some (search “Anna Graham Riverbend Big Sur” or “Robert Kaufman Riverbend Big Sur” to start). Making the Poolside So anyway, this Poolside Tote was such ..read more

Studio Tunic in Riverbend

Okay, this is the Studio Tunic in Riverbend Essex and it might be one of my favorite makes! I know, I’m sure I say that every time I make something. It’s fine. Once I saw Meg release her Studio Tunic pattern I knew I had to make it. I’ve been wanting to make something like this to wear while I’m sewing. I’m always moving my scissors or seam ripper or marking tool and then covering it up and wondering where it went! You’d think I’d have some sort of system, but honestly, I haven’t taken much time to think about how to resolve it. I have a generous size cutting table and drawers, but it would b ..read more

Yuma Oxbow Tote

I had the Yuma fabric pulled into a few different piles, so I knew I would end up making a Yuma Oxbow Tote! If you’ve been around my blog for a while, you’ll know I’m a big fan of Leah Duncan! I’ve been using her fabrics whenever a new collection pops up. I love the way she combines colors. Here’s a cute jacket I made lined with Leah’s fabric, and another one, some t-shirts, a beautiful dress, a lanyard wallet, a Zip Top Tote (pattern from my book, Handmade Style), a Market Bag (also from my book), two Double Zip Wallets (also from my book), the exterior of my Road Trip Case, an Envelope Clut ..read more

2023 was a good year

2023 went by in a flash honestly. I’m constantly working behind the scenes on something whether it be a new pattern, a new fabric collection, or new supplies for my shop. In between all of that raising two teenagers is very fulfilling and takes up any remaining time I have. I hope in 2024 that I can sew a tiny bit more. I have a few personal quilts I’d like to make and I always love experimenting with different fabrics using my patterns. On the personal side of things, my family had another fun and full year. We had downhill skiing, a dip into freezing Lake Superior, prom court, senior pictur ..read more
