Patterns with the yarn! I started knitting at 4 years old. By the time I was 8 my mind was made up that I would own a yarn store. That dream came true at 19-now I'm into the 27th year of that dream.

Cake Pop Sweater is a new pattern from Joji Locatelli (pattern purchased on Ravelry).
This pullover is knitted from the top-down in one piece, with a circular yoke.
It features an easy feather and fan lace (the wavy pattern) and it is perfect for new sweater knitters, but also really quick and fun for more experienced ones.
The sweater is knit with one strand of fingering weight and a fluffy yarn that is exactly the same base (and same yardage) as Emma’s Suri Silk. You can also knit the sweater with one strand of worsted weight yarn.

Here’s a bit of knitting. I took pictures of my Snowflower last night before going to bed. I didn’t finish week four so I’m going to have catching up to do when I get home.
I was up way too early this morning (2:30am) to finish packing and to get to the airport. The flight was uneventful. I knit two rows and then napped. My hotel is nice. There is a full kitchen and laundry in my room but there isn’t a desk. I should have taken pictures before I made a total mess of the place. I’m writing with my iPad on my lap so this is going to be short.
This is from the balcony of my room.

After the sale I forgot to put the Rasta Sale colours online. They are there now.
This is the first Textured Cowl that I knit with Rasta a few years ago.
Pattern: Textured Cowl (pattern purchased on Ravelry)
Yarn: one skein of Rasta in the colour Zarzamora - this is a colour that is on sale.
Needles: 15mm
It is a bit too wide. I cast on 48 stitches for this one.
If you've made a cowl and find that it is too big, don't rip it out. I'm against ripping out. :) Instead try a shawl pin. It will hold the cowl in place and looks great. Jewelry for your knitting.

Alex came in to help today wearing the cutest tank top she knit. Unfortunately she won’t let me take a picture (it’s okay because I hate having my picture taken as well) so in your mind think of her in a mauve top. She used Hedgehog Sock in Wisteria (a brand new colour).
This is her next project - Frame Your Face. She is following the sport weight numbers and is using Emma’s Suri Silk (double strand) with Dyed in the Wool. It looks good so far. I can’t wait to see it when I get home.
She has a bag of my projects to block. I’ll have lots to show in two weeks when I see her again.

Caitlin Hunter has a new pattern called Bergman (pattern purchased on Ravelry).
The Bergman sweater is knit from the top down and features colorwork at the yoke, hem and sleeve cuffs. The design is written to be slightly cropped with decreases to bring the waist in, but the decreases may be omitted, and the length can be adjusted to the knitter’s preference. If omitting the waist decreases, you will not be able to work the colorwork design at the hem as the decreases are worked to make the chart work.
A reverse color chart option is provided for ease of reading.

Kathy was in today with her Snowflower. This is another beautiful colourway.
Hello Old Rose.
Gail emailed me this morning about the Old Rose Wrap. She inquired about knitting it with Emma’s Suri Silk. That would be a perfect option for the shawl. I would hold it with the matching colour of Practically Perfect Sock. She will need 3 skeins of Suri Silk and 2 skeins of PPS.
Speaking of Suri Silk - it’s on the move. It is going to live on the wall where Roan lived. I have half the colours up and as soon as the Roan is gone the other half will be moved onto the wall.
Hurry up and make ..read more

We have three new colours of Zauberball Starke 6 and Zauberball Crazy. These three colours are available on both bases.
I was in the store this morning packing boxes. I waited and waited for Mr. UPS but he didn’t show up so I packed up and was heading to the UPS store with the boxes. I saw the big brown truck down the street and met him. He took my boxes and handed me a big box of Zauberball. These are all online and will be in the store on Wednesday. There were Addi needles in the box - that will be my job tomorrow.
Here are some samples we’ve knit with Zauberball.

I spent most of the day knitting.
I finished knitting and cast off another Traveler Cowl. For this one I used 3 skeins of Dyed in the Wool - Ranunculus. It’s been almost finished for a long time and I was sick of seeing it sitting on my knitting table. I’m hoping that Alex will take it to block and sew the back seam.
I spent some time on my Snowflower. The third week is finished and I’m about 7 rows into week four. After I finish my post I’m going to work on Frame Your Face. I think I can finish it tonight.
