I've just purchased a kobo Elipse to try it out and see if it has the features I need. The first and most important reason why I want an e-reader is so that I can run my finger under the text as I read. So.. I Found my original Kobo touch and I'm planning on putting linux on it to use as a kind of calendar/todo/clock type thing and had a few questions around specifically running linux on it. I waited to know what the new Kobos would be before buying a new Libra 2 to replace the one stolen in January. I was very disappointed that the new Libra was colored ink only, with resultant very poor definition. In France, only reconditioned Libra 2 B/W are available, either from Kobo or Fnac, for 170 €. I wonder if it is the same elsewhere. There are some available from resellers, but I want the convenience of Fnac if I have problems with it. So there's a a series on the Kobo Store that for some stupid reason got split up into a bunch of smaller series. As I load my books from the store, this resulted in nearly a dozen duplicates on the Series tab. After some investigation (and experimentation - don't worry, I took a backup ;)) I found that setting the SeriesID column in the content table of KoboReader.sqlite could merge them. Is there some easier way to set this without pulling out SQLiteStudio all the time? My Forma is a few years old now and recently it has started glitching. I plugged it in to transfer a few books from calibre a while back and it was like the whole database got corrupted, everything was gone including about a thousand epubs and all my reading time data (I dont use it for anything else besides epubs). I have the latest Calibre setup for my Sage. I started with a clean slate, factory resetting my Sage, and adding lots of books to Calibre. I then used the default metadata sources (Amazon and Google). It took several hours. When done, I don't see any series information in that column in Calibre. I have several books that I know are part of a series (all from Feedbooks). I haven't sent anything over to the Sage yet. Why no series info in Calibre? Am I missing a step ..read more
