Thursday cable ratings: ‘Floribama Shore’ stays steady, ‘Dr. Pimple Popper’ takes the win

“Dr. Pimple Popper” topped all of its cable competition in the Thursday cable ratings this week. The TLC series led the night’s cable chart with a 0.5 rating in the adults 18-49 demo, down one-tenth from the 0.6 rating that it scored last week. Also on TLC, “My Feet Are Killing Me” nabbed the chart’s second place spot with a 0.4, matching its rating from a week ago.  Meanwhile, the first part of ESPN’s “30 For 30: Vick” special rounded out the night’s top 3 with a 0.4 and a 941,000 viewer audience. The NBA and the WWE landed at the top of the cable ratings for the week of Jan. 20. ESPN topped the week’s adults 18-49 chart with its broadcast of the San Antonio vs. New Orleans NBA game scoring a 1.0 rating in the demo. Meanwhile, USA’s weekly “WWE Monday Night Raw” broadcast followed closely behind the NBA game in the 18-49 chart with a pair of 0.9 ratings. Elsewhere, Fox News dominated the total viewers chart, as the cable news network generated 22 of the week’s 25 most-watched broadcasts. “The Late Late Show with James Corden” took a small hit in the late-night ratings for the week of Jan. 20. The CBS late-night series averaged a 0.16 rating in the adults 18-49 demo for the week, down two-hundredths of a point from the 0.18 it averaged the week before. “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” similarly ticked down from a 0.35 rating to a 0.32, tying it with NBC’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” (0.32), which also experienced a notable downtick, for the week’s demo win. The Wednesday cable ratings were, once again, topped by a live sports broadcast. ESPN’s broadcast of the Houston vs. Portland NBA game led the night’s cable chart with a 0.5 rating among adults 18-49 and a 1.15 million viewer audience. Bravo’s “Real Housewives of New Jersey” placed second in the chart with a 0.5 of its own, which puts it even with its rating from last Wednesday. ESPN’s broadcast of the Detroit vs. Brooklyn NBA game from earlier in the day landed a little lower in the chart than the Houston vs. Portland game, and raked in a 0.3 rating with 876,000 viewers. It was another steady week for “The Curse of Oak Island.” The History Channel series stayed atop the Tuesday cable chart with its third straight 0.7 rating in the adults 18-49 demo. TNT’s broadcast of the Celtics vs. Heat NBA game placed second in the chart with a 0.5 rating and a 1.25 million viewer audience, while Bravo’s “Vanderpump Rules” rounded out the night’s top 3 with a 0.5, up one-tenth from its 0.4 last week.
