Good evening, Cavs fans. It’s put up or shut up time for Cleveland. To say that the series hangs in the balance for Cleveland would be an understatement. There’s no way the Cavs can win the series of the don’t win tonight. But let me digress. Looking ahead feels like it’s been the entire problem for Cleveland so far this entire season. Donovan Mitchell recently said he wants to be “the face of the NBA,” and the Cavs’ have made no secret of the fact that they think Evan Mobley is a future all star or more. Maybe the Cavs, their fans, their players, their front office, etc. should stop looking a ..read more

Podcap: Orlando 112, Cleveland 89 (Or, Do the Collapse)

Forgive me as I channel one of Ohio’s greatest bands: the venerable Guided By Voices, to name this podcast. 1999’s Do the Collapse was likely the band’s most commercially appealing album, which for many of their critics and fans, made it not their best, as Rick Ocasek’s “glossy” production was a departure from the band’s lo fi roots. Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers, some of whom weren’t even alive when GBV frontman Bob Pollard released those songs, are facing their own identity crisis. After taking a commanding 2-0 series, lead, the Cavs have collapsed the past two games in Orlando during t ..read more

Good afternoon, Cavs fans. The Cavs face their old nemesis today: the weekend afternoon game. After the Cavs put up the worst playoff performance in team history, not even 48 hours ago, it will be interesting to see how they come out. If it were me if be breaking into people’s hotel rooms and throwing buckets of ice water on them and running up and down the hall banging on pots and pans this morning just to work everyone up into a frothy ire. The Cavs should be pissed off. If they’re not, well then this series might be over. This isn’t a must win game for them, but they can’t play like they’re ..read more

Happy Thursday, Cavs fans! The Cavs travel to the land of the Mouse tonight to take on the Magic. Expect Orlando to come out furious,as their series is pretty much on the line tonight. For me this game all comes down to shooting. Orlando is shooting 24% from deep in the first two games. I would assume they shot much better at home in the regular season, but I don’t have the stats to back that up cause I suck at the internet. The Cavs are letting them shoot, and we’ll see if Cleveland’s luck holds up. If the Cavs win tonight, my prediction of the Magic in 6 is dead. Go Cavs ..read more

Welcome to the ‘offs Cavalier fans! First off, I know things have been pretty sparse around here content wise of late, and I just wanted to thank you all for keeping the community going in the comment section. I’m truly grateful for the loyalty and camaraderie. Second off, the Cavs take on the Magic today! Orlando comes into this game with no one on the injured list, and run a deep team that could give the Cavs fits, especially against the bench lineups. The Cavs will be missing Dean Wade, Craig Porter Junior, and late scratch Ty Jerome. I know I was pretty down on the way the Cavs backed into ..read more

Happy fan appreciation day, Cavs fans. Cleveland wraps up the regular season this afternoon against Charlotte. The Cavs are sitting Mitchell, Garland, Merrill, Caris LeVert, and Dean Wade. No word on the status of Ty Jerome. The best scenario is Pacers, Cavs, Magic, Knicks win today… The Cavs get the 3 seed vs the Pacers. For Charlotte, well, anyone who was ever good at basketball is not going to be playing today. Enjoy the Cavs playing a team trying to lose. Go Cavs ..read more

Gooooood eeeeevening, Cavs fans!!! Cleveland faces it’s most important basketball game of the year so far as they look to take diwn the Indiana Pacers. The Cavs’ playoff seeding hangs on the edge of a knife. The Cavs need a win tonight to basically lock themselves into no worse than the 4/5 slot so as to avoid dropping all the way to sixth or even seventh in the standings. The Pacers are playing for as much and to stay out of the play-in. The Cavs will be without Dean Wade for at least the rest of the regular season. Dylan Merrill is doubtful, and in breaking news, Ty Jerome will not suit up ..read more

Whelp. It all comes down to the next three games, Cavs fans. Cleveland comes into tonight’s match up with the Grizzlies nursing 46-33 record, tied with the Orlando Magic who (whom?) the fifth seeded Cavs would face if the playoffs started today. Meanwhile the Grizzlies are playing out the string with a collection of G-Leaguers. They have no less than 15 players on the injury report, while the Cavs are missing Dean Wade and (of course) TY Jerome. Sam Merrill is doubtful. With this level of competition, and the Cavs in danger of falling to the play-in. It’s likely J.B.is coaching for his job. Go ..read more

Good afternoon, Cavs fans. The wine and gold end a brutal road trip in LA today with their final regular season road game. Cleveland will be missing Donovan Mitchell (load management), Dean Wade, and Ty Jerome, with Isaac Okoro and Craig Porter Junior apparently healthy enough to return to the floor. Let’s hope they can contain the dribble penetration that has been plaguing Cleveland since the all star break. Meanwhile the Clippers will be missing Kawhi Leonard, Daniel Theis, and Josh Primo. You have to hope that the expanding wing and perimeter depth helps Cleveland keep up, but my worry is t ..read more
