Just bought our house two months ago. This was my first home improvement project. It's not the best but I learned a lot! Here's the before and after.

What should I do with this cable? There used to be a lamp here, but now there's going to be a chimney right next to the cable. I don't think it will look good to have a lamp right next to a chimney. Does anyone have any tips?

I’m using brick as a border for a garden bed, can I just use some sand under the bricks?

I’m scared of the weight of the tub when full of water breaking these support stands.
Leaning towards no stands at all.
But also worried about having to clean underneath if there’s no space to get under.
If I’m going with stands, I’ll be asking my architect to build some for my tub. They don’t come with legs of their own from the manufacturer.

I was cleaning my motorcycle with a normal wet rag, and was trying to rub out a sticker with friction. The sticker's glue turned into an opaque colour like in the picture. I later got to know that the cloth was laced with WD40 lube just some time earlier.
I tried cleaning it off with what i thought was rubbing alcohol as I had heard that it helped remove glue from surfaces. After a try wiping it out, it turns out that I had mixed the bottle of rubbing alcohol up with acetone and it only darkened the colour.
Rubbing alcohol would do no good to clean it off further.

Hi all,
I am moving out of a rental property and have tried to clean a stain from old hardwood flooring.
Without realising I've scrubbed through the varnish. The area looked fine while wet but now that it's dried it's sticking out like a sore thumb.
Any experience or ideas would be very much appreciated.
Thanks everyone!
