I have gone back and read every single post of my blog, and the website before, these last few weeks. It makes me wonder why anybody would continue to visit. There are a few brave souls. The last ten years or so were totally repetition with photos of the same places over and over again as I kept returning to them. The photos were new, just not the sites. I wish I could write like I did when I first came to Paris when everything was new to me. It all just sort of poured out of me. So, I’ve sort of lost interest in posting here. I’m still on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter and have even done a ..read more

I just saw an interview with Paul McCartney are NBC Sunday Morning featuring a photo exhibition about to take place in London. It is his photos taken just as they landed in the States, went on Ed Sullivan, and, as he said, their lives were changed forever. I went into the archives of my blog and found a 2009 posting of my encounter with him which follows: I wasn’t having a bad day but I was carrying a heavy sack filled with silverware that I had bought on sale. “Why is that stuff so heavy?” I thought, since I had my heavy load, and being in the Marais I decided I would head to rue des Francs ..read more

Three photos taken on a walk in Paris. The Grand Vefour, a lovely restaurant attached to Palais Royal. During Covid, they set up this seating area and continued this summer. The color of this cafe attracted my attention. It was past rue Montorgueil. The front of the beautiful Saint Paul Saint Louis church in the Marais ..read more

A few more photos from Paris. Isn’t this refreshing looking? Roses growing in Palais Royal on a beautiful day. Not from Paris but from a small village in Provence. After WWII the countryside was decimated and finally all that would come up were poppies, usually over the lime from rubble left by the war. The red poppy came to symbolize the blood shed during battle as talked about in the poem, In Flander Fields ..read more

Street Art
Frenchless in France

On a recent trip to Montmartre, I saw a lot of street art. All along a short street were images of clothes made to look as if they were hanging on a line. This artist has over 500 plaster casts of his face that are painted all over Paris. I think a lot of them are in Montmartre. This lady artist recently died. Her art was almost always of a dark haired woman. She went from being a street artist to having shows in galleries ..read more
