Review: Kit Kat Birthday Cake

We love us some Kit Kat at this house. That crispity crunchity wafer and chocolate mix is hard to beat. We’ve done several Kit Kat reviews already, but the latest lemon crisp Kit Kat and raspberry +creme Kit Kat were pretty darn good and will be tough for any flavor to follow. So how does this Birthday Cake one taste, do you want to break off a piece of that birthday cake!? Before we talk taste, it is important to note that this Kit Kat version is the first time Kit Kat has used inclusions (that is the food industry term for mix-ins, in this case, rainbow sprinkles). So, this is a giant first ..read more

Review: Klondike Donuts Boston Cream
Sugar Pressure

There are very few ice cream treats we love as much as Klondike bars. There have been a few new varieties over the years, but the donuts variation totally threw us for a loop. How in the world would Klondike mix donuts and ice cream? Our minds ran wild with ideas until we finally found these in stock at our store and brought them home to try. The shape may be the best part of this particular flavor. They’ve figured out how to punch a whole in a Klondike bar. (Which made us wonder if we’d see Klondike Donuts Donut Holes at some point in the future…please say yes!) The Boston Cream flavor is kin ..read more

Review: Nutter Butter Double Nutty

Nabisco, it is about DAMN TIME! Honestly, why did it take this long to get a double-stuffed, I mean double nutty Nutter Butter cookie on the shelves?! There’s every flavor under the sun for Oreo, including thins, regular, double, mega, and MOST STUFF, yet all this time, the Nutter Butter plodded along with only the regular amount of peanut butter creme in the cookie! (We know Nabisco has Nutter Butter wafers, bites and fudge-covered, but all we want is that Peanut Butter Creme.) We have to admit it, we love Nutter Butters. The smell is delightful, the peanut shape and peanut flavor is amazing ..read more

Review: Mtn Dew Frost Bite

There are several subreddits we follow on the popular Reddit.com. One of them is https://www.reddit.com/r/mountaindew/ which keeps us aware of new Mtn Dew flavors. We’ve said this in almost every soda review, but we aren’t huge soda fans, but Mtn Dew has such a cult following, we love to review the new flavors when they come out. At first taste, we weren’t sure what this flavor is. It looks wintery, with trees covered in snow, but then it has a giant shark coming out of water in the middle of snowy evergreen trees? We were confused. Although, we must admit, only in Mtn Dew land is it possible ..read more

Review: Fudge Stripes Caramel Toffee

It was bound to happen eventually, we found a cookie we hate. We are as surprised as you. We love cookies! We’ve reviewed so many cookies and we haven’t found anything we really disliked until we tried these Keebler Fudge Strips in Caramel Toffee flavor. We’ve always enjoyed Fudge Stripes, we especially love when they go on sale, as they often do. We saw this new flavor and we thought it sounded amazing, who doesn’t love caramel and toffee together!? Well, this cookie is terrible. We can’t taste the caramel, we can’t taste the toffee, it does smell like toffee, a deep overpowering toffee smell ..read more

Review: Blue Bunny Load’d Cones – Cookie Dough
Sugar Pressure

Summer is quickly approaching so we’ve loaded up (see what I did there?) on ice cream treats to review! We saw these load’d cones announced some time ago by Blue Bunny and they looked really intriguing. Blue Bunny ranks slightly above store brands for normal ice cream rankings for us. It’s light and airy and doesn’t have the same high quality as something like Ben and Jerry’s for instance, but it is better than most of the store brands. Blue Bunny Load’d Cones There are four varieties of these cones so far, but cookie dough easily won in our grocery store frozen food aisle poll. These a ..read more

Review: tic tac Coca-Cola
Sugar Pressure

Announced in October of 2019, we’ve been waiting for these to arrive on store shelves for quite a while. We love tic tacs and we love Coca-Cola, so a mash-up of the two gigantic icons was something we were seriously looking forward to. We finally found these in a large 3.4 oz size at our local Target and we couldn’t wait to review them. We were unsure how these would taste, we thought maybe a generic cola flavor or something boring. We’ve had cola flavored stuff before, it’s good, but it’s no Coca-Cola! Well, we were pleasantly surprised at how these tiny little 0 calorie candies tasted ex ..read more

Review: M&M’s Dark Chocolate Bar with Minis
Sugar Pressure

We haven’t reviewed any of the M&M’s bars yet, although they’ve been around since 2018. These are giant chocolate bars with mini M&M’s throughout. We love M&M’s, just as they are, the way they’ve been made since 1941, but changing consumer demands and more competition lead to some amazing new candies. Our guess going into this review was that we’d get some kind of hard and bitter dark chocolate that was thick and chewy. Wow, were we wrong! The dark chocolate in this bar is not bitter, it has a fantastic melt, it is a lot like the Dove dark chocolate candies, to be honest. This ..read more

Review: Dr Pepper & Cream Soda

We have reviewed a few new sodas on this blog… Coca Cola Cinnamon, Mtn. Dew Berry Mashup, Sprite Winter Spiced Cranberry and Mtn. Dew Maui Burst to name a few. We were completely surprised to see this mash-up combination at the grocery store though. How can you possibly improve on the Dr Pepper’s 23 flavors? Don’t get us wrong, we do like the Cherry Vanilla Dr Pepper but there is nothing like the original for us. We prefer it to almost any other option out there. I wouldn’t say we are purists, okay, maybe we are, but we went into this review with some serious doubts on how these two flavors wo ..read more

Review: Trolli Sour Crunchy Crawlers
Sugar Pressure
by Mark D.

We found these at our local Walgreens at the checkout while picking up a few other items. There was a giant “NEW” on the packaging, so we had to try them. We don’t normally buy gummy candy, however, we are partial to sour gummy candy and these looked like something completely different. Turns out, these are a pretty close twin to Sour Chewy Nerds, which we’ve reviewed before; they have a crunchy candy-coated flavoring with a chewy inside and sour flavor throughout. These are a bit different, the candy coating is thick and I mean really thick. We tried to squeeze these between our fingers a ..read more
