We always look forward to the long year end school holidays because of all the exciting activities we can do as a family.
It's the time when I can turn off the numerous alarms I have on my phone, when we can sleep beyond sunrise and not have to rush in the mornings, when we can sleep late at night and not have to keep chasing everyone to go to bed, when we can be spontaneous and go anywhere we want to, when the kids and I spend so much quality time together on our mum-and-kids outings that I wish it would never end.
Of course, having all the kids at home also means less peace, more bickers and ..read more

Turning 13 is a big thing because it means you are officially a teenager. That happened to the big girl last November - yes, how time flies, this blog was started when she was still a baby and we were living in Sweden - and this precious firstborn of mine has now blossomed into a fine young lady. I still remember the first day she came into this world and I will always do, no matter how big she grows.
Just so you know, I am the kind of mum who loves to surprise my kids. For all of their birthdays last year, I kept our celebration plans a secret and only dropped them hints when the big day was ..read more

I might be turning 40 this year but 13 years of experience in being a mum tells me that age does not define what I do or how I think in this parenting journey. It certainly should not deter me in being kiddy at times, in being able to let my hair down or dance like no one is watching, or in being a fun parent who doesn't just watch but is enthusiastic to join in the activities too.
If I can, I will always want to have a child in me. One who reminds me that life is fleeting and things shouldn't be solemn all the time, who tells me to relax, chill and just have some fun every once in a whi ..read more

Halloween is a special time for our family. Back in 2020, all the parties we usually attended were cancelled due to the pandemic. To bring some cheer to the kids, I did a DIY Spooky Halloween party where we dressed up, played games and went trick-or-treating. The kids said it was the BEST Halloween ever so I knew we had started a fun-filled family tradition and it would be awesome if we could do it year after year.
Then in 2021, we had a "Back to School" theme and our characters include the Teacher, Einstein, Bully, Miss Popular, Class Clown and Cutie Pie. We played lots of childhood games i ..read more

I love school holidays because it means we get to spend more time together as a family. It doesn't matter if we do not travel overseas, all that matters is that we are creating precious memories, spending quality time together, and making the most of what we have.
This year seemed to have flown by with a baby turning into a toddler in the blink of an eye, a Primary 1 kid who had to adjust to a new school, a upper Primary kid who had to juggle her dance SYF and increased academic workload, and a Secondary 1 kid who made friends in a new environment and experienced the fun and stressfulness of t ..read more

They say that when it comes to motherhood, the days are long but years are short. Judging by how nearly 13 years have passed me by yet I still remember the very first day I became a mum, I can see the truth in that saying and sometimes, I do wish I have the power to make time slow down.
You see, even the days feel short to me and 24 hours just doesn't seem enough for me to achieve all that I want to. The days, weeks and years seem to fly past me and every time I look back, I wonder where they had all gone to. I guess I will never know but all I hope for is that I had done my best to cherish ti ..read more

The airport has always been one of our favourite hangouts because of all the diverse, fun and family-friendly activities you can find there. Ever since Jewel opened in 2019, we visit it regularly because we love admiring the majestic Rain Vortex, the kids like the food options available (A&W, anyone?), and we love that there are many things to see, play and learn as a family.
One of our most-loved attractions in Jewel is Changi Experience Studio (read our review here) even though we've been there umpteen times already. The kids never fail to have lots of fun and learn a thing or two about ..read more

It might seem daunting when we are asked to take up a challenge, but what is life if we don't push ourselves beyond our limits every once in a while, right?
To me, challenges both big and small exist in our daily lives. Regardless of whether we realise it or not, we are overcoming hurdles in our own unique ways. Be it something as big as having a kid or moving house or as small as cooking a new dish or making a handmade gift, these are the things that stretch us and make us discover that we are so much more capable than we know.
Well, being a parent itself is a daunting challenge and one that ..read more

Graduating from kindergarten is a huge milestone and one that should be celebrated and remembered. It marks the end of an important phase of childhood and once our little one enters primary school, time flies and he/she won't remain tiny for much longer.
When Asher did not have a year end school concert in K1 due to the pandemic and the situation didn't seem to improve much in the following year, it didn't seem very hopeful that his school would organise a graduation concert for the families to attend. But lo and behold, his teachers understood the significance of this occasion and worked ferv ..read more
