I love my 2017 Volt! Only 55,000 miles. Always was confident driving hundreds of miles from home but now... Had to replace the Infotainment module last month and now the EGR valve. Dealer service wants $3000. I'm not confident in this service team. Won't let me talk with tech. Part is not available, nor is the fuse available. Still waiting on an availability estimate. I've had my 2017 Volt LT for 11.5 months now and reached 111111 miles on Sunday (was 89483 when I bought it) On the day of purchase my the car's Lifetime MPG was 101 and MPGe was 61.6. Today it's 65.6/105. I used to drive 19.5 MPG SUV and bought gas literally twice a week but with majority of 21628 miles driven with battery power I saved $4000 +/- $200 and that's subtracting $2 per over-night Class I charging at home and free charging at work 42 miles... My 2011 is pretty consistently giving me the "Shift to Park" message at power down. Flicking the shifter button no longer fixes the problem. I pulled the right side panel off the console and can see that the lever and button on the microswitch are being fully depressed, so it's not like the Gen 2 problem where the lever can be bent to make better contact with the button. I'm guessing that the internal microswitch contacts are shot. I'm wondering if it's worth trying to replace the... Just got some bad news, my 2014 volt needs an engine. All the dealership said was it was damaged internal components. When I asked exactly what they said it would take a tear down to figure it out and by then all the labor isn’t worth it. They quoted me $4,800 to put in a used engine with 28k miles on it. Do you think it’s worth it? I really only need another year out the car but I’m worried if I put more money in it then something might happen soon and then im really screwed. I’m not sure... 2016 Volt, about 32K miles. Trouble free till about a month ago, driving on gas engine power, "reduced propulsion" message appears. No apparent change in the car's behavior or performance. Only thing I did notice was that the engine's electric cooling fan stayed on for several minutes after I turned the car off. This never happened before. Took the car to dealer. Hey PHEV fans, my 85k miles 2015 gen 1 Volt has had a quirky issue for years that certain incoming texts prompt the infotainment unit to display the name of an incorrect sender. This happens primarily with group texts. For reference, this happens when connected via Bluetooth to my Android phone (currently a Galaxy S24 Ultra but also occurred with a Galaxy S21 Ultra and S10e).
