Vladimir Gutierrez designated for assignment to make room on 40-man roster
The Brewers have selected right-hander Tobias Myers from Triple-A Nashville, optioning lefty Jared Koenig to make room on the active roster and designating Vladimir Gutierrez for assignment to create space on the 40-man roster.
Myers, 25, was a sixth-round pick by the Orioles in 2016. He signed with the Brewers in fall 2022 after bouncing around several organizations. Across 140 2⁄3 innings between Double-A Biloxi and Triple-A Nashville last season, Myers went 10-5 with a 4.93 ERA and 175 s ..read more

Wade Miley pitched only three innings after taking a ball off his knee in the first inning
Box Score

The first inning was one to forget. The Padres led off with back-to-back singles, then loaded the bases after Jake Bauers missed the catch on a sacrifice bunt. Manny Machado brought in the first r ..read more

Yelich has been out since leaving Friday’s game against the Orioles
The Milwaukee Brewers have placed outfielder Christian Yelich on the injured list with a low back strain, retroactive to April 13. To fill his roster spot, Milwaukee recalled utility man Owen Miller from Triple-A Nashville.
Yelich, 32, was enjoying a renaissance season prior to his injury, slugging five homers, driving in 11, stealing two bases, and hitting .333/.422/.744 across 11 games prior to his injury. What was once considered a day-to-day injury ultimately will shelf Yelich for a couple w ..read more

Brewers welcome Friars for three games
Coming off consecutive road series victories in Cincinnati and Baltimore, the Milwaukee Brewers (10-4) will return home on Monday to begin a series with the San Diego Padres (9-9), who won their second of three in Los Angeles against the Dodgers on Sunday night.
The Padres are in an interesting spot as a franchise. After consecutive years of shocking the baseball world with how much they spent trying to build a championship team and coming up short, they trimmed payroll this season, letting Josh Hader leave in free agency a ..read more

Orioles’ streak of regular-season non-sweeps survives
The Milwaukee Brewers entered today’s game in a position to do something that no team has done in nearly two years: sweep the Baltimore Orioles in a regular-season series. It doubled as their first chance to face their former ace, Corbin Burnes, after trading him in the offseason.
The Brewers got off to a hot start against their old friend today. William Contreras greeted Burnes by watching one cutter go by and then promptly depositing the second one into the seats in center field, his fourth homer of the sea ..read more

Transactions continue on a busy Sunday for the Crew
On what was already a busy day for transactions for Milwaukee, the Brewers have claimed right-hander Corbin Martin off waivers from the Arizona Diamondbacks, assigning him to Triple-A Nashville.
To clear space on the 40-man roster, Milwaukee designated right-hander Kevin Herget for assignment.
Herget was called up for just one day earlier this week, but he didn’t appear in a game for the Brewers after joining the team in late February. In four appearances with Triple-A Nashville, Herget totaled ..read more
