In case you weren’t aware, today, April 5th just happens to be National Deep Dish Pizza Day and to celebrate Lou Malnati’s and Mike’s Hot Honey have announced an epic limited-time-only collaboration — Lou’s x Mike’s Hot Honey Deep Dish Pizza! I know that generally Chicago and NYC don’t mix when it comes to pizza, but in this instance the collaboration between Chicago-based Lou Malnati’s and New York based Mike’s Hot Honey is one that I think we can all agree on. The partnership actually comes at the perfect time as hot honey seems to be the current popular food trend and being a fan of Mike’s ..read more

Totchos (Tater Tot Nachos)

Elevate your nacho game to legendary status by swapping out the tortilla chips for crispy tater tots topped with juicy pulled pork and all your favorite fixings! Thanks to Utah Pork for sponsoring this post! There’s really no wrong way to make nachos, but there are ways to make nachos better and to me one of those ways is to swap out the tortilla chips for tater tots! Sure, the shape of tortilla chips makes them perfect for scooping up toppings, but if you don’t eat your nachos fast enough you’re left with a soggy mess, which defeats their main purpose. Tater tots on the other hand are thicker ..read more

Chopped Breakfast Sandwiches With Doughnut Buns

Are you guys sick of the whole viral chopped bagel thing yet? I’m not, so here’s a chopped breakfast sandwich that I made! The idea for this sandwich actually came about when I was talking with a buddy of mine right after I made my Chopped Chicago Style Hot Dog. I told him about another chopped sandwich idea I had that involved me taking a McDonald’s Big Mac and chopping up all the Big Mac stuff along with some fries and McNuggets and then putting everything back on the Big Mac Buns. He suggested using doughnuts as the bun instead of Big Mac buns and I wrote back “A breakfast sandwich chopped ..read more

Review: KFC’s new CHIZZA (Chicken Pizza)
Dude Foods
by Nick

After years of selling it in various countries all over the world KFC finally launched their CHIZZA (Chicken Pizza) nationwide here in the United States so on day one I headed to my local KFC to give it a try! KFC’s CHIZZA consists of two decently sized breaded pieces of boneless chicken topped with marinara sauce, shredded mozzarella cheese and pepperoni. Upon unboxing the CHIZZA I was pleasantly surprised how closely it actually resembled the promotional photos I’d seen online prior to my visit. I would have liked a little more cheese, or for the cheese to be melted a bit more, but I also w ..read more

The 3 Pound Bacon Cinnamon Roll
Dude Foods

I bought a case of cinnamon rolls from Sam’s Club a while back and had three tubes left that were about to expire so I decided to use them all to make one giant mega roll! Have you ever heard that joke that goes “Hey, do you wanna eat six pieces of string cheese? Oh, that’s too much cheese? How about if I bread and deep fry them and serve them with a side of marinara sauce?” That’s kinda how I feel about this giant cinnamon roll. Had I made them the normal way the three tubes I used would have made a total of 24 cinnamon rolls and I might have eaten one or two of them. This one though? I ate ..read more

Mini Corn Dogs

These mini corn dogs are great as a snack, as an appetizer or for when you feel like bragging to your friends about how you just ate 20 corn dogs at once. Vienna Beef recently sent me a box of goodies in the mail containing hot dogs, buns, relish, mustard, sport peppers and celery salt — basically everything you need to make Chicago style hot dogs. Also included in that box was a package of cocktail franks. Usually my go-to when it comes to cocktail franks is throwing them in a slow cooker with barbecue sauce and grape jelly or barbecue sauce, ketchup and some brown sugar and just letting them ..read more

The Deep Fried Ice Cream Pop-Tarts Sandwich

Jeni’s Ice Creams recently did a collab with Pop-Tarts and released a Frosted Brown Sugar Cinnamon ice cream flavor and were nice enough to send me six pints of it to try. It was absolutely delicious on its own, but even better when I deep fried it and used two Frosted Brown Sugar Pop-Tarts to make an ice cream sandwich!I started out by spooning a pint of the ice cream into a 7 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ rectangular Pyrex dish that I lined with parchment paper to make it easy to remove the ice cream after I smoothed it out and refroze it.  Actually, I started out by grabbing a spoon and eating half a ..read more

The Vulgar Chef Burger

My buddy Kyle AKA The Vulgar Chef recently did a collab with Newks Hot Sauce and came out with his own Smokey Chipotle Hot Sauce. He was nice enough to send me a bottle and here’s what I made with it! Kyle’s slogan with The Vulgar Chef is “Bless your soul and your hole” so I grilled a half pound jalapeño Cheddar burger patty, topped it with Pepper Jack cheese and then served it on a bun with a hollowed out top that was filled with a mixture of mayo, ketchup and The Vulgar Chef’s hot sauce and then stuffed a bunch of French fries in it. It was totally impractical to actually pick up and eat, b ..read more

The Bacon Weave Elvis Sandwich
Dude Foods

It’s a damn shame that Elvis Presley died at such a young age because he seemed like a pretty cool dude. Case in point, the Elvis sandwich which consists of peanut butter, bacon and banana that was named after him since he ate them so often. It’s a pretty great sandwich on it’s own, but I made it even better by replacing the slices of bread with perfectly crispy bacon weaves! There’s a bit of a debate as to whether or not these specific sandwiches that Elvis ate included bacon or if they consisted solely of peanut butter and banana with no bacon. I think where the confusion comes from is that ..read more

S’mores Bacon

If you like the sweet and salty combination of chocolate covered bacon or candied bacon then you’re probably going to want to make this S’mores Bacon!I’m not normally a fan of sweets and I’ve always thought that chocolate covered bacon was a little overrated, so I’m not sure what led me to make this S’mores Bacon but I’m glad I did! I started off by frying up some thick cut bacon and then brushed melted marshmallow over each of the bacon strips. After that I sprinkled crushed up graham crackers onto the marshmallows and drizzled melted Hershey’s chocolate bars over them. The main thing I never ..read more
