Costa Rica with toddler , help with itinerary
Need help with a 9 day Costa Rica itinerary with a 19 month old. We’re flying into Liberia and I was thinking of staying 3 days in La Fortuna, 3 days near Tenorio volcano National park and lastly 3 days at beach near la Concha. What do you think?

We like the La Fortuna area a lot. There's nice hiking at the Arenal Observatory Lodge. It's set out by the lake and has a lot of wildlife. We've seen tons of coatis there, beautiful birds including toucans, and occasionally howler monkeys. They have a free guided hike each morning. La Fortuna has a beautiful waterfall you can visit. Lots of steps down and back up so you'd have to carry your toddler. The guided Bogarin Trail is excellent for seeing sloths. It's owned by a local family. You can also hike the Mistico Hanging Bridges. If you feel comfortable visiting natural hot springs, Tabacon is gorgeous - can the baby wear floaties and a swim diaper? Eco Termales is also nice if you want something smaller. There are also lots of adventure activities but would probably be a challenge with a little one. There's a local volcano that towers over the area, hasn't been active for years, but still impressive if it isn't covered by the clouds. We go to Manuel Antonio for beach time so can't help with La Concha.

i cantt reccomend what to do but i can certainly give you one dont
Costa rica has become the mecca of new age Instagram spiritual hippies that one up each other on whose more spiritual. Having said that i lost a dear friend to a cult like regime called the sat yoga institute and haven't been able to contact her since she visited over a year ago now. im sure everywhere else is fabulous and watch out for the howling monkeys with the toddler

We've been to Tenorio national park. We went to see the Rio Celeste waterfall and just did a day hike there. To me, it would be a little rough with a child that young. The waterfall is gorgeous though.
