Travel from Interlaken to Rome
I am wanting to travel from Interlaken to Rome but having a lot of difficulty finding out what type of train SBB is booking me on and the difference between 1st and 2nd class. It was saying the train was EC 53 but there was no info on seating and whether buying 1st class was well worth the extra money. Does anyone know the difference between 1st and 2nd? And better yet can someone tell me what the best way to get to Rome would be? My daughter really wanted to ride a train but also doesn't have a ton of money so if flying is cheaper then she will do that for sure. Thank you in advance for any advice on train vs plane and what train to take!!!

There are 4 daily train connections Interlaken - Rome (with train changes at Spiez and Milan).
For timetables and fares, have a look at https://www.thetrainline.com/
First class cars have less and more comfortable seats.
