Horizon Forbidden West vocalist has been sent abuse by ‘fans’.

As reported by Push Square, without giving too much away, there’s a moment in the game that strongly hints at Aloy’s sexuality. Though to be fair, I thought that was quite obvious during c the original game, Horizon Zero Dawn.

Julie Elven provided vocals to a song that was used during a certain scene in the game and thus, this is the moment that triggered some angry corners of the internet. Elven revealed in a series of tweets that she has received multiple messages of abuse from angry gamers.

“Since Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores came out in April, I’ve continuously received angry DMs from gamers, as my vocals are featured on a scene in the DLC that they see as “LGBTQ propaganda”. Receiving puking emojis, “God won’t forgive you”, “You destroyed Horizon” & more.”

Elven did say that she has received an outpour of support, which is always nice to hear. However, that doesn’t excuse those that went out of their way to harass another person for singing a song.  Be kind, and don’t be a dick.

Horizon Forbidden West and its expansion, Burning Shores is out now.
