54 New COVID Cases Reported on Big Island

The state Department of Health reported 519 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, bringing the statewide total to 228,336. Seven new fatalities were reported.

A total of 54 new infections were identified Tuesday on the Big Island. On Tuesday, the Civil Defense reports 2,687 active cases, and 32 persons hospitalized.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

O‘ahu: 159,161
Hawaiʻi: 24,669
Maui: 27,063
Kaua‘i: 10,601
Moloka‘i: 895
Lana‘i: 585
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 5,362

A total of 7,861 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 1,233 have died.
