‘DimLand’: Whimiscal Genre Film About Millennial Ennui Comes To Theatres and VOD

Growing up ain’t easy, and Peter Collins Campbell captures that perfectly in his directorial debut DimLand. After a successful festival run, Gravitas Ventures has acquired the film and is bringing it to select theatres and VOD on September 28.

DimLand’s Synopsis:

In this bittersweet fairy tale about life at a crossroads, Brynn attempts to shake off her melancholy by escaping to a family cottage with her boyfriend. While there, she rediscovers a world she had long forgotten and an old friend named Rue who may convince her to leave reality behind.

Campbell creates something truly special with DimLand, a film that exists at the intersection of childhood and adulthood, horror and fantasy. Rue himself feels like a character from a Studio Ghibli film. He is both sweet and mysterious, a symbol of a life that once was.

Earlier this year, DimLand took home the Best Feature award at the Chattanooga Film Festival,
as well as Best Narrative Feature at the Lighthouse Film Festival. In addition, the film’s lead
Martha Brown took home the award for “Best Lead Performance” at the Art of Brooklyn Film
Festival. The film also earned the Director’s Choice Award for Best Cinematography at Woods
Hole Film Festival.

“Campbell’s debut feature is a special film that we are so excited to help release into the world,” Gravitas’ Sales & Acquisitions Manager David Sullivan said. “What starts off as a simple romantic drama, quickly transforms into something unique, mystical, and much deeper. The film has an important message and thanks to Campbell’s confident voice behind the camera, DimLand succeeds in delivering it.”

This indie darling stars Martha Brown, Odinaka Ezeokoli and Nate Wise.

DimLand will have its theatrical premiere on September 14 at Music Box Theatre. It’ll then expand to select theatres in LA and New York City.
