Streamers spent $153m on Australian programs

Amazon Prime, Disney, Netflix and Stan collectively spent $153 million on Australian programs in 2019–20.
The Australian Communications & Media Authority has published aggregated Australian content results for the 2019–2020 financial year for subscription video on demand services – the first time that such data has been collected and published.
These are for titles that meet minimum requirements for key creative roles, including producers, directors, writers and cast being Australian.
This information was voluntarily reported by the SVODs following a request from the then Minister for Communications, Cyber Safety and the Arts in December 2020.
As at 30 June 2020, there were 618 Australian program titles (3,080 hours) available on the 4 SVOD services.
