Reboot of Stephen King’s SALEM’S LOT Now Set to Kick Off Filming in Ipswich

It looks like the latest reboot of Stephen King’s vampire horror Salem’s Lot, written and directed by Gary Dauberman (IT, Annabell Comes Home), is set to begin filming soon in Ipswich, Massachusetts! Ipswich Daily News today reported:
Filming will take place in the AnnTiques area of South Main Street for five or six days, town manager Tony Marino told the select board on Monday. The movie planned is ‘Salem’s Lot, a remake of Stephen King’s classic tale about vampires in small-town Maine.
Further confirmation of the production comes from Production Weekly, who included Salem’s Lot in their most recent issue dated July 15th.
As we previously reported, The Illuminerdi first shared rumors that Jake Gyllenhaal had been tapped to star in Salem’s Lot as Ben Mears.

Salem’s Lot, the novel by Stephen King, was first published in 1975. In 1979, a made-for-TV miniseries was released, directed by Tobe Hooper. The book was adapted again in 2004 for TV, this time with Mikael Salomon in the director’s chair.
Everything about this latest adaptation seems to be shrouded in secrecy, so we’ll be sure to keep our eyes and ears peeled for details! Stay tuned and check back often.
